Indications (approved label)
1. 혈소판 감소증이나 혈소판 기능장애를 가진 환자에서 출혈의 예방 및 치료에 사용한다. 특히 수혈로 인한 발열성 비용혈성 수혈반응의 예방, HLA 동종면역의 예방, 백혈구 내에 존재하는 거대세포바이러스 감염 전파의 예방을 위해 사용한다.

2. 자주 혈소판 수혈을 받을 경우에는 혈소판수혈불응증을 예방하기 위하여 백혈구가 제거된 혈소판 제제를 사용한다.
Dosage and administration (approved label)
1. 수혈세트를 사용하여 정맥으로 투여한다.
2. 사용량은 임상소견과 원인에 따라 결정된다.
3. 백혈구여과제거성분채혈혈소판은 대개 단위당 3×10¹¹개이상의 혈소판이 들어 있고, 이는 농축혈소판 약 6단위에 해당하는 양이다.

1. 혈액형을 확인하고, 변색 및 용혈, 용기 파손 등의 이상 유무를 확인한 후 수혈해야 한다.

2. 수혈 시에는 용혈수혈반응(hemolytic transfusion reactions)의 위험이 따르며 간염, 바이러스 감염증 같은 혈액 매개 감염과 알레르기성 또는 발열성 수혈 부작용 등이 초래될 수 있다. 또한, 혈소판을 너무 급히 주입하면 순환혈액량 과부하와 증가된 혈액량에 의한 다른 합병증이 유발될 수 있다.
3. 혈소판 수혈이 필요한 환자들은 대부분 장기간에 걸쳐 상당량의 혈소판을 수혈 받게 되므로 혈소판 수혈을 결정하기 전에 혈소판 감소증의 원인을 밝히는 것이 중요하다.
